Plush Pets
Each dream hides the real plushie: a cute, harmless plush, far from where you arrive. Bring it home and it becomes a pet that follows you around, and keeps its monster away.
Bringing one home
- Find the plush in its Dream World. A note saying "Wake up! It's coming" always lies next to it.
- Take it: use it, or break its seat and pick it up.
- Run. Taking it wakes up the dream's monster.
- Sleep in a bed of the dream to get home with it.
Get caught on the way and the plush is gone. You'll have to find another one.
Tip
Carry it as an item, not as a pet walking behind you. It's much easier to get out with it.
As a pet
- Place it: use the plush on a block. It follows you around.
- Sit / stand: use it to make it sit down. Use it again to stand it up.
- Pick it up: break its seat. It keeps its name.
- It can't be hurt, and a name tag renames it.
Protection
While its plush is near you (16 blocks), a plushie leaves you alone in the overworld. If one is already after you, it gives up as soon as it comes near the plush.
This works for all four plushies, but not inside the dreams. Mochi can still visit you in bed.
