Station Rail

Station Rail

Station Rail is where riders get on and off.

It has two states. Closed stops the front car of a train and opens the safety bars so people can climb in. Open closes the bars, nudges the train forward, and lets cars through without stopping.

It needs a flat rail on both sides to work.

Switching between open and closed

The rail flips state every time it receives a signal pulse. Give it a signal key with the Coaster Wrench, then drive that key from a Control Panel or a Track Sensor.

New to keys? Start with Redstone Signals.

Advanced Camera

The station is also where you record an Advanced Camera — a realistic onboard view that plays for riders as the train pulls out. Start the recording from the rail's own menu; once one exists, riders will have the advanced camera on.

Important

Re-record the camera whenever you change the track. The recording follows the layout it was made on, so an edited track leaves it out of step with where the train actually goes.

Warning

Only riders already in a car when it leaves the station get the advanced camera. Anyone who climbs aboard after the train has set off gets the normal cameras instead.

On Pro Rails

There is no Station Rail on a Pro Rails track. You make a station directly with the wrench on a Coaster Anchor, which gives that anchor the same Station Settings.
