Nightmare Dango

Nightmare Dango comes for you when you take the plush in Dango's Pit: a 22-block worm crawling over floors, walls and ceilings, faster than you can sprint. It can't be hurt. But it hates the light.
The hunt
Take the plush and the ground shakes. A few seconds later the Nightmare Dango fades in somewhere down the tunnels, and comes for you.
- It bites anyone close for 8 damage, and plows through book piles and anything players built.
- When you're low on health, it doesn't bite: it sends you home instead. "The pit spat you back out." If you were carrying the plush, it's destroyed.
- If it can't reach you, it fades out and comes back a little later.
The light
The note says "Stay in the light", and it means it.
- It avoids lit places, and can't enter bright ones.
- Stand in bright light and it never bites you: it flinches and turns back.
- Make it flinch three times near you and it gives up for a while.

Torches don't last. The Nightmare Dango snuffs out every torch around it. Use lanterns, glowstone or other light blocks, and switch on the Pit's desk lamps: each one is a little island it can't touch.
Lurking
Before you take the plush, a still Nightmare Dango sometimes lies across a dark tunnel ahead of you. It's only there to be seen, and fades out when you get close. It can't hurt you.
